I'm consumed by the notion that nondual understanding is obscured by the superstitious ideas gurus attempt to qualify themselves with. It's one thing to speak from an experiential understanding, it's entirely another to allow yourself to be projected as some kind of magic king or queen. Many of the larger satsangs are sustained by the desire of people to be in the presence of divinity. Gurus use the idea of their enlightenment to support the idea of their divinity. This degrades the nondual truth we all share and only serves to create occluding concepts where clarity is desired.

Let these forums be a place for spirited discussion and disclosure in an atmosphere of moderate toleration. Attack the ideas, not their holder, and I'm sure we'll all have a good time.

Hi Gurubusters,

As a long-time victim of a criminal guru couple in the nineties Czech Republic, I became very sceptical and anti-guru. I had to hide 5 years abroad just in the seek of my life, and returned to my country only after the couple died (they were old), just to realize their sect continues to harm other people. I wanted to support other victims, so after 12 years of silence I spoke out: by founding my own website (in Czech language) about the sect and other similar cults and gurus.

I am very happy there are people with the same criticism about false gurus and false spirituality out there. Your views are very similar to mine, after a glance at Guruphiliac I know we share the same opinions about Satya Say Baba, Amma and Bhagavan, Swami Nityananda and a lot of others...

I know I will enjoy the stories and comments here. So thanks to you all, who keep this blog living and providing information!
