Greetings,
I am living in Belgium, and my English will not be perfect, excuse me for that.
When I was a kid - end of the fifties, beginning of the sixties - the most popular Indian Guru was Swami Sivananda. He opened centers of his “Divine Live Society” all over Europe. He made things likeYoga-philosophy and advaita popular.
Nowadays, so many years later, a lot of European-born neo-advaita teachers or non-duality-doctrine gurus have appeared on the spiritual scene.
I see the figure of Eckard Tolle, here on the forum. I wander if other specimens, like Tony Parsons and others, are known in your country?
It is rather funny, that 2500 years after the Buddha, the main topic of these European gurus is “Anatta”, “no-self”. And they are very successful in catching people’s attention.
I find some of my friends telling me with awesome seriousness: “There is nobody here!” “In fact, I don’t exist.”
What is happening? Are we afraid of life?
