Karthikshan,
My intention was not to scare you away from posting here.
I think you'll see many people online asking why devotees feel the need to defend their systems and beliefs. But you happened to be one we could ask. :)
Looking around, most followers post (or talk about) all about their fabulous experiences, some with almost religious fervor, without any open communication allowed for someone else to ask questions about it. And if someone does ask questions, some devotees give not-so-nice responses, or they brush off the questioner as an ego-based person who has no true experience/knowledge. These are the things that concern 'the outsiders.'
Although, I'll admit it concerned me too while I was 'an insider.'
You're an insider, so just try it..... talk about Isha with another Isha member and see how comfortable they are when you raise a question about Isha or Sadhguru.
Now, whether Sadhguru is truly 'God on earth' or not is irrelevant. I think it's an important understanding of the human psyche on why we purposely close ourselves off to anything that may tip our idea of reality.
Btw, I don't know if meditation is important or not. I'm not against it in the sense of simple awareness. But there's a distinction between simple awareness and meditation practices.

Happyd,
I attended the Inner Engineering program (on East coast) and a two years of practice did not turn me into Buddha but clearly improved my energy levels. I did pay $300 at my will for the program and felt it was quite reasonable for program that lasted 3-4 days. Towards the end of the program, I did notice many who were faking trans with fake sounds. In fact it was Jaggi, who told us to ignore those fakes. I do not know if he was enlightened or not, I careless about it. I went there to learn Yoga not to see miracles. The program was quite transparent And what I learned was worth every penny I paid. Despite giving them all my contact details, I have never, in two years received any marketing material nor donation requested from ISHA.
You seem to have spent a quite a lot of (negative) energy on this topic trying to prove him or others who may not agree with you wrong. Why don't you stop armchair quarterbacking and go directly to one of his open events and present your happy ideas? Or perhaps may be before you go, try inspiring your neighbor to plant a tree and see if you can start a positive change.

Hi Happyd,
You are doing a good job.... I think the guy is a true mystic sucking energy out of people. I really dont know if I have time to expose such things... went there to learn yoga...came back earlier nausiatic ... I do not have any issues with the cult they are trying to form... but what is sickening is that it being done in the name of teaching yoga....
Anyways, u r upto a good task...

In a weekly Tamil magazine, JV is writing a series of article on 'Spirituality'. In the latest issue, he mentions the meaning of the word 'Pasu' in the name "Pasu Pathi", one of the names of Lord Shiva, as 'Life', whereas, the word refers to all living creatures in the world.
This is one more example of JV's incompleteness and confidence that thousands of his 'obedient' followers would not question him. He can write/talk whatever he wants! If anyone questions him, he/she will be brushed off as 'Egoistic' or not being open to truth.
This aside, in one his recent interviews, he says I don't have desire, I am 'Greedy' to realize god. How can one person who has not realized himself can go out to the world and claim he is enlightened. This is just ridiculous. If anyone questions him, the answer will be "Why are you bothered about his wisdom, bother about yours!"
